Princeton University
Princeton University is widely considered to be one of the best universities in the world, with some rankings listing it as the #1 university in the United States (2023). Princeton's undergraduate program is recognized as one of the most exclusive in the country.
Princeton ranks #11 overall in our ranking of investment banking target schools and has one of the best Undergrad Placement %'s in the country. Investment banks and all of Wall Street recognize Princeton as a top school, but its relatively small school size prevents it from having a strong presence at every firm.
Princeton is also home to the Bendheim Center for Finance which specializes in quantitative finance. Princeton is one of the few schools that sends people directly into hedge funds.
Princeton University is ranked #18 for total hires into the top U.S. investment banks and has an astounding Undergrad Placement % of 1.88%, ranking it #4 on the list behind the likes of UPenn, Harvard, and Georgetown.
Princeton is particularly well represented at the bulge brackets, sending the most investment banking hires to Credit Suisse (23%), Goldman Sachs (17%), and J.P. Morgan (14%). Princeton has relatively low exposure to elite boutiques, sending only 9% of hires there.
We note that Princeton's placement numbers are even more impressive when you consider that many students do not focus on finance placement.
